Welcome to “Girls in Science”, a science fair for six, seventh, and eighth grade girls held at Mercy High School in Burlingame. In our commitment to strengthen girls’ science skills, we are encouraging the research and investigation involved with science fair projects. Girls in Science will give these young women the opportunity to compete with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls from other schools in the Peninsula and San Francisco. Whether or not your school is planning to participate in other science fairs this year, this is yet one more avenue to promote your students’ work. And, with all of the hard work that goes into these, shouldn’t they be able to show them off?
Below you will see a timeline of events and due dates. You may send up to four projects from each grade level. The guidelines for judging projects will follow the guidelines set forth by the San Mateo County Science Fair. The Mercy High School Science National Honor Society will host and judge Girls in Science this year (juniors and seniors that are highly motivated in science).
