Graduation Gifts 2019

This is a very special day of shared memories of the past and thoughtful conversations to support students as they transition to their next paths. Parents should join the 6:30-7pm Transitions meeting. 

We welcome all students to drive through the main gates of Mercy High School to pick up their caps, gowns, pins, and a few other surprises as they prepare for graduation! All families will be asked to remain in their cars. Families can drive to the main door of the Kohl Mansion where they will receive a bag of their daughter's special items. We encourage parents to join their daughters on this drive as it is a symbolic one that represents their four year journey of high school that is coming to an end. Feel free to decorate your cars in celebration of your graduation!

Mothers, Special Women and Graduates of the Class of 2020 are invited to a Mother Daughter Prayer Service via Zoom. We encourage families to set aside time afterwards to have a special meal together. 

Our Senior Alumnae Pinning will occur virtually this year. All students will receive their pins in their bags during the Cap and Gown pick up. We are excited to welcome parents to pin their daughters during the Senior Alumnae Pinning Ceremony when her name is called. Though it is tradition that an alum pins each girl, we feel it is entirely appropriate for our parents to pin their daughters.

You should wear your graduation gown, light-colored dress, sensible shoes (no cap, no tassel, and no academic regalia--no cords, pins, etc.). 

Our Baccalaureate Mass has been reimagined as we create a place to honor the achievements of our seniors and to pray with them as they start their new beginnings. Families have been sent the Zoom link. We encourage families to set aside time afterwards to have a special meal together. 

Mercy High School will be virtually hosting the Graduation Ceremony of the Class of 2020. This graduation will honor all traditional aspects of a Mercy High School Graduation. Families are invited to welcome other family members and special friends to join in watching the webcast at www.mercyhsb.com/graduation2020. Please allow at least one hour for the ceremony. We encourage families to set aside time afterwards to have a special meal together. 

(Students will wear everything--gown, cords, cap, etc.)

Students are required to wear a dress under the graduation gown (no pants). Light-colored dresses are preferred, since the graduation gown is white and bright colors show through.

You should wear your graduation gown (ironed), academic regalia (cords, medals, and pins), tassel, light colored dress, sensible shoes, and cap. Graduates may wear flowers, leis, and other decoration after the ceremony only.

On June 6th we will invite students at staggered times to come to Mercy to pick up their Diplomas and Awards, and to take pictures in their caps and gowns in designated areas of the school. Families will receive more detailed information about this opportunity and be assigned a specific time in the 4-hour window to come to Mercy.

Please save July 26, 2020 and November 25, 2020 as dates for our in-person celebration. Whenever we are able to gather again we will bring our graduates and their immediate families together for a special celebration at Mercy's Kohl Mansion!

We have a very limited number of bears that we are making available only to the graduating class. Bears are $15 each. If you are interested, please  click on this link to place your order.  All orders must be placed before 5/12 in order to add to the graduation bag.
