Dear Neighbors and Mercy High School Community,
We want to begin by expressing our heartfelt thanks for your ongoing support, patience, and thoughtful conversations over the past year as Mercy High School has prepared for this exciting new chapter. Your engagement has been invaluable, and we’re truly grateful to have such a supportive community alongside us as we move forward.
We’re writing to inform you that construction staging and the initial phase of our project will begin the week of June 9-13. We are committed to being transparent partners throughout the duration of this project, which is currently scheduled for completion in September, 2026.
To help keep everyone informed, we are developing a project website that will launch next week and serve as the main form for communications and updates. Additionally, following our weekly project meetings each Tuesday, we will share any relevant updates for our neighbors via this website, including:
- The current scope of work
- Activities planned in the coming weeks
- Any anticipated higher noise level work on the horizon
As we prepare to begin our work, please know that work scheduled for the early summer months will include:
- Installing chain link and temporary wood fencing
- Reworking lawn irrigation
- Site staking
- Demolition of the tennis courts
- Utility trenching near the Grassilli Center
- Relocating the fire hydrant on Poppy Dr
- Digging and pouring footings
As the project gets underway, there will come a point where it will be unsafe for neighbors and their pets to be walking throughout our construction site. We ask that neighbors respect any and all signage redirecting guests on campus. If Mercy High School students and staff are unable to access certain areas of our campus, we expect our neighbors to respect these boundaries for their safety as well.
We thank you in advance for your patience and support. We know that despite our best intentions, there will be moments of inconvenience over the next 14 months. We are grateful for the continued support and partnership and hope that you will reach out to us whenever you feel we could better partner with you.
If you have any questions or immediate concerns, feel free to call the main school line at (650) 343-3631 and ask to speak with me. To help keep you informed during our upcoming construction project, we invite you to submit your email address for email notifications at mercybuildingthedream.com/neighbors.
Wishing you all a safe and blessed summer!
Sincerely,
Natalie
