Prayer and Liturgy

Our hearts can always be in the same place, centered in God, for whom alone we go forward or stay back.
– Mother Catherine McAuley
All School Liturgies
We gather together as a Catholic community once a month to celebrate Eucharistic liturgies and prayer services. At these ritual gatherings we celebrate the Catholic liturgical seasons, Marian, and Mercy feast days. At Mercy our Catholic identity calls us to create a community of hospitality and belonging where every student is encouraged to deepen her own spiritual life while learning from and alongside others. Non-Catholic students are invited to participate in ways that honor their own faith traditions and beliefs.
Chapel Visits
Once a month our Religious Studies classes gather in the chapel for silent prayer, a time for quiet reflection. In the midst of their busy lives, our students value these moments of stillness, finding peace and renewal in the beauty of the Sisters of Mercy Chapel.
Reconciliation
We gather as a school community for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the Season of Lent. There is a reconciliation prayer service followed by the opportunity for individual confession. Priests from the nearby parishes come to offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to members of the Mercy community.
Pastoral Counseling
Members of the Campus Ministry team: Angie Simonetti, Sandy Flaherty, Peter Diaz are available for Pastoral Counseling for any member of the Mercy community.
