When Catherine McAuley founded the Sisters of Mercy she likely never imagined that there would be a school for young women in a mansion in the hills of Burlingame, CA. What a treasure that her vision and mission grew into what it is, or else we would not be here united in Mercy today. When I walk the halls of our campus it never ceases to amaze me how happy our students are. Their bright smiles could light up any room. The mere presence of your daughters is a gift that brings life to our school. It is wonderful that they have this special place thanks to Catherine's mission. Her desire to educate young women and provide a safe space for them is alive and well at Mercy High School, Burlingame. We thank you for supporting this mission through your daughter's education.
I hope you all received the invitation to meet next week for an open Parent Meeting. Please note that this meeting will be held next Tuesday, February 25 at 7PM and not Wednesday, February 26. Should you have any questions about the impact Mercy SF's closure might have on Mercy Burlingame I encourage you to attend. If you are unable, please do not hesitate to call or email.
Through our Fund A Need program, we fundraise for a specific school need. We are excited to share that this year's Fund A Need will be focused on renovating the first floor student bathroom of the mansion wing! This is a much-needed project that the students deserve, and we are excited to begin the fundraising at next week's Lobster Feed. If you are unable to attend the event and wish to donate to this need, please click here. Plans are underway to begin this project this June!
I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Games & Practice Schedule February 20-26
![]() Athlete of the Week Katie, not only is she a freshmen that has started every game at the center position, she leads the team in assists with 2.8 per game. In addition, she is 2nd in rebounds with 8.7 per game and tied for 2nd in steals with 1.6 per game. Katie shows up every day, never complains and works very hard in practice. As a testament as to how far Katie has progressed in her basketball development, at this time last year she was playing point guard on her 8th grade team. The team finds out where and when they will be playing in the CCS playoffs tonight. Katie's play in the middle will help determine how far the team advances in the play-offs. Great job Katie, keep it going!

Students will meet one-on-one with counselors in the coming weeks to make their course requests in PowerSchool. This year families will not be responsible for making those requests at home, which is a change! We hope this is more convenient for you. Parents will still have access to the recommendations and course requests, and we encourage you to talk with your daughter about them. Email or call your daughter's counselor with questions or concerns. Thank you for careful consideration of a balanced and rigorous course load!
