Final Exams begin next Friday, May 24
Students have free dress, and do not need to be on campus if they do not have an exam. Students may not reschedule exams without approval from the Assistant Head of School for Academics. Click HERE for schedule.

Library books are now due.

All library books must be returned to the library before May 16.  Any overdue books will result in the student's yearbook being withheld until either the book is returned or Mrs Murphy is reimbursed the cost of providing a new copy of the book. Please help your student find any missing books; under the bed, or in the shoe closet are often the preferred hiding places for these creatures. Mrs Murphy misses them and wants them home before inventory.

Sharing good Results on Lead Levels in the Water

In May we had the City of Burlingame do tests on the water at the school looking for any lead issues. We have received the following results from Jennifer Lee, Environmental Regulatory Compliance Coordinator for the City of Burlingame:

The Burlingame Water Division has received the lead testing results from the sampling event that was conducted between May 1 to May 2, 2019. Under state law, the minimum action level for lead is 15 parts per billion (ppb) or 15 µg/L. Your school's lead testing results indicate no exceeded levels of lead, therefore no further action is necessary.

Make your Parent Pledge to the Mercy Annual Fund for the upcoming school year. By making your pledge now, you have the opportunity to spread out your gift in a way that works best for you! You can choose to pay in full, or to indicate your commitment and pay between July 2019 and June 2020. 
 

There are two ways to submit your renewal:

• Download the Parent Pledge form and submit it to the Advancement Office
  

Help us reach our goal of 100% parent participation! Gifts of any amount are welcome; however, we encourage families to consider joining the Head of School's Circle with a pledge of $1,500 or more.Thank you for your generosity and commitment to Mercy! Tuition covers 79% of the cost to educate each girl. Every pledge helps us bridge this gap.

Calling all Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Parents!

We are looking for help in making our graduation events special for the Seniors and their families.

 

The following opportunities will help us wrap up this year's events. Get a sneak peek into graduation logistics. We appreciate your help!

 

 Junior Parents 

Parking Permit Applications for the Class of 2020 are now available in the Main Office. 

The requirements are as follows: 

1. Form completed and signed by student and parent. 

2. Copy of Drivers License 

3. Fee of $100 (checks payable to Mercy High School) 

 

Please bring all required paperwork and fee to Mrs. Folan in the Main Office. Rising Seniors: You will have the rest of this school year to turn in your forms. First come first served. If you expect to get your drivers license over the summer, you may send it in before the first day of school. Beginning the first day of school any remaining spots will be opened up to licensed Juniors (Class of 2021.)

Attention Senior Parents! Mercy has 40 tickets for Disney Grad Night in Disneyland. It is a memorable and fun experience to celebrate Graduation. A bus will leave Mercy at 8:30am on Friday, June 7th and then will travel to Disneyland, arriving around 4:00PM. Students will have the opportunity to attend Disneyland and Disney California Adventure until 2:00am. They will travel back on the bus on June 8th and arrive back at school around 12:30pm. The cost is $200 per student, and this includes the Disney ticket and transportation on the bus. Tickets are limited so first come first serve. Bring your check made out to Mercy High School and permission slip to Coach RG. Click HERE for more info.

Spring Sports Awards Night 
May 16 at 6:30pm - Great Hall

*All uniforms and Mercy gear should be returned to the Athletic Directors office ASAP! All uniforms must be washed and clean prior to returning. Please bring to the AD office and not to Spring Awards Night. Any uniforms or gear not returned will result in the family being charged a replacement fee.

Dance Team Tryouts and Clinic:
Clinic for all those trying out will be held on May 15 and 16. Tryouts will be held on May 17 3:30-5:30pm.

Clinic and Tryout will be held in the Dance room in Grassilli

New Head Varsity Volleyball Coach
We are extremely pleased to announce that Leslie Blakely has been hired as our new head Varsity Volleyball Coach. Leslie is coaching in the local area at both High School and Club teams.

Athlete of the Week
Softball player Ari Montiel
Due to her versatility, Ari has been able to step in as Freshman and play wherever needed by the coaches. She has been steady in her play at 2nd,SS and Pitcher for this year's team. Never adverse to a challenge, Ari has been willing to do whatever it took in all situations so the team could succeed. Aside from her solid defensive work, Ari has posted some very impressive totals on the offensive side. Her batting .477 is 3rd on the team, 26 runs scored is 2nd on the team,13 stolen bases is 3rd on the team. In addition, she has 3.90 Earned Run Avg and is 2-0 on the year in the Pitchers circle. Ari is a critical part of this year's most successful team who ended the regular season as the WBAL league champs. This is Mercy Softball's first championship since 2009. The team is playing today at Hillsdale in 1st round of CCS play-offs. Great job Ari, keep it going!

Summer Athletic Program/Open Gyms
Skill Development and Strength & Conditioning  sessions are now posted to the Mercy website. All athletes who will be participating in a fall sport should utilize the Strength and Conditioning Sessions in order to be properly prepared for their tryouts/practices. Click HERE for more information.

Summer School: 

Students and parents, if you are planning to take a summer school class to ADVANCE (not remediate), you must send your counselor proof of registration for this course as soon as possible. Donate Used Uniforms
Just in time for Spring cleaning! If you have any Mercy uniforms around your house that your daughter doesn't need anymore, please drop them by the Main Office and we'll offer them to other Mercy students at our upcoming Used Uniform Sales.
