WEEKLY FEATURE

Ms. Simonetti's Religion 3 class completed a video project on the 3rd Commandment: "Keep Holy the Sabbath Day". It was an opportunity for students to reflect on the importance of taking time out of their busy schedules to relax and rejuvenate in order to be more present in their relationships and with God. One of the class favorites was done by Jace Cen '20 and Jennifer Ye '20. View their video here!

Return your 2019-20 Parent Pledge to the Annual Fund today! By making your pledge now, you have the opportunity to spread out your gift in a way that works best for you! You can choose to pay in full, or to indicate your commitment and pay between July 2019 and June 2020.

There are two ways to submit your renewal:

  • Make your gift or pledge online
  • Download the Parent Pledge form and submit it to the Advancement Office

Help us reach our goal of 100% parent participation! Gifts of any amount are welcome; however, we encourage families to consider joining the Head of School's Circle with a pledge of $1,500 or more.Thank you for your generosity and commitment to Mercy! Tuition covers 79% of the cost to educate each girl. Every pledge helps us bridge this gap.

Please don't hesitate to contact me or Jennifer Munsey,  Annual Giving & Donor Stewardship Manager, at 650-762-1190, if you have any questions.

Thank you!
Mary Lund, Director of Advancement

Athlete of the Week
Softball player Ryan Galea
Ryan, a Junior, is one of the captains of this year's team. Her steady play at both Shortstop and Pitcher has helped this year's team to have tremendous success as they just won the WBAL Championship. In Tuesday's 11-5 win over Harker to clinch the championship, Ryan had 4 hits including 2 doubles and triple as well as scoring 3 runs. She was the starting P as well. Ryan is currently second on the team in batting average, Runs Batted In(RBI) and stolen bases. Her solid defense at SS helps set the tone for our Crusader defense. Ryan is very well respected amongst all her teammates as she is a 3 year starter and leader on the team. Great job Ryan, keep it going!
Good luck to the team in the Central Coast Section Play-offs

Honors, AP, Tri-School Classes

Students should check in regularly with teachers and counselors about their grades. It's easy to get distracted by the end-of-the year events! It is especially important for students who plan to take Honors, AP, or Tri-School classes to maintain their grades. Don't hesitate to discuss this with a current teacher, counselor, or the department chair if you have questions. If we do need to remove students from an advanced class because of grades, schedules could be rearranged and may not be able to accommodate selected courses.

AP exams will take place May 6 - May 17. The library will be closed during this time. Students, please make sure you eat and sleep well, and arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled time of your exam. All exams except Chinese will take place in the Library. AP Chinese will take place in the MML. All student cell phones must be turned off and put away. Students are strongly encouraged to attend classes before and after their exams, however, it is not required. If a student is planning to miss the first part of the day prior to a 12:00 exam, a parent must call the main office. If you have any questions about AP exams, please contact Francesca Ohanessian at fohanessian@mercyhsb.com.
