WEEKLY FEATURE

Image

We are more than halfway through our Spring Sport season and our teams are building skills and earning wins! Softball is currently 6-0 in WBAL League play with a great team batting average of .382. They play Notre Dame Belmont on Friday in a crucial league game. Lacrosse is riding a winning streak in WBAL play, beating NDB 14-8 yesterday. They have upcoming games tomorrow and Friday. Gymnastics has 8 girls on the team this year! They've competed in 2 meets and have shown great improvement in their results. The next meet is April 11 at Cupertino High. Swim has seen almost everyone on the team improve in their personal best times, and substantial improvement in their relay times. They will be competing in a league meet tomorrow at Sacred Heart Prep. Track and Field is also seeing girls improving their marks as the season progresses. The coaches are preparing them for league trials on April 30 with a meet this Saturday at Leland High. All the teams would love if you came out to show your support!

Athlete of the Week:
Lacrosse player Maya McGee
Maya has been a 4 year lacrosse player in the Mercy program. As a senior she is being counted upon for her experience to help guide younger girls in the program. More importantly, within the past week, Maya has helped lead the team to two straight league victories against Aragon High School and rival Notre Dame Belmont. She tallied 2 goals, 2 assist in the two wins. Her strong play on the defensive side has also keyed the past 2 wins. She was also 67% in draw controls against NDB. Keep it going Maya!
