WEEKLY FEATURE

Image

The Mercy library is far larger than the physical books on the shelves. Thanks to subscriptions to online research databases such as Gale/Cengage, EBSCO, and others, students and faculty can search for hundreds of thousands of news pieces, magazines, and academic journal articles. Back issues of magazines such as Time, Scientific American, the Economist and hundreds more are available along with videos and audio from radio and academic journals from around the world. Primary sources such as speeches, legislation, and court decisions are within easy reach, as are opinion pieces from diverse backgrounds. The goal of this wide variety is to encourage our students to seek better information to help develop their own ideas and opinions, and participate in the conversation that is research at its best!

Athlete of the Week:
Varsity Basketball player Mia Calsada
A 3 year varsity player and one of the team captains, senior Mia Calsada is an integral part of the team's offense and defense. She scored 14 points against Crystal Springs in under half a game last Friday night. Last night she scored 16 against Castilleja. She lead the team in assists both games, Her defensive intensity, leadership, and unselfishness doesn't show up in the stat sheet, but she strives to get everyone involved. Keep it going Mia. Good luck to the team in the CCS!
