This week, for 'Hour of Code', Dr. Bradley's Intro to Computer Science class had fun creating art with code! Working with a representative from CodeHS, they built awesome memes and musical beats. Check out the beat made by Veronica Chi '21 (click 'RUN' in window)! CodeHS is a comprehensive platform that helps high schools teach foundational skills of computer science and coding.

Open House was a terrific success!
On Monday the mansion was packed with many interested families. We had a terrific group of parent volunteers who helped welcome families, prep and serve food, point the way to rooms, direct traffic and most importantly talk about their daughter's Mercy experience! A huge thanks to these parent volunteers: Judy Ajam, Ana Brownstein, Carol Cory, Matt Cory, Janie Dawes, Brian Dean, Sue Farrell, Craig Farrell, Javier Gutierrez, Rana Jones, Colette Kelly, Maria Martinez, Luke Perkocha, Karen Sammons, Arlene Susmilch, Michael Vo, James Wilson. The evening was so wonderful with your involvement!

Keep your lawn sign for next year! If you still have your Open House lawn sign and want to be green, hold onto it for next year and we will print stickers with the new date and time again. (If you've already recycled it, no worries!)

Mercy Athlete of the Week:
Hip Hop Team Member Wilka Mendiola
A sophomore, Wilka and her Hip Hop team members had a strong 2nd place finish this past weekend at Jamz competition. Their overall score guarantees a spot in the Jamz Nationals that will be held in February. Using facial expressions is critical in Hip Hop for the girls to make the dance come alive. Once their routine started, Wilka truly stepped out of her comfort zone and led the way for the team. It was fierce how she executed her moves. All the girls were yelling "do it like Wilka" before it was their turn to perform. Great job Wilka, keep up the great work!
