WEEKLY FEATURE ![]() For Deaf Awareness Week, Ms. Gachowski and American Sign Language (ASL) 2 and 3 students are coordinating different activities to engage the Mercy Community! Many students are wearing a sticker, badge, or ribbon for Deaf Awareness to indicate they are available to answer questions. There is a 'Sign of the Day' posted on Schoology - today's is "Dream" - which is fun for the students and faculty. Tuesday's bake sale raised over $157 to benefit the National Association of the Deaf! Other informational activities include Deaf related facts during announcements, posters of hand signs, Deaf comics, and memes around campus. The comics and memes have an explanation as to why it is funny in Deaf Culture. The ASL students are enjoying the opportunity to share their learning with the rest of Mercy!
