FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Image

Welcome to a new school year! As we finish our second full day of classes it is wonderful to hear the chatter and laughter in the hallways. I always love watching returning students guiding new students to rooms and buildings. This is a special part of Mercy.

I am looking forward to seeing you at Mercy Parent Club events this year. The Parent Club Board, working with Amare Silva '11, our new Volunteer and Event Coordinator, is looking for more ways to involve you in the school.

We have had an incredible turnout of athletes for all our fall sports. All athletic schedules are on the web site. We hope you will join us at the games! This summer we hired a full-time trainer to work with the girls on strength and conditioning. Keri Sotek will be attending games and working with the girls to help keep them injury-free.

Mercy is going as paperless as possible! All handbooks – Student/Parent and Athletic – will be online on the website. You will be receiving information on accessing these important documents in a few days.

Looking forward to seeing you at Back to School Night on August 28th!

Important Traffic Reminders

  • Please be considerate of the speed limits, stop signs and our neighbors. Especially be careful in the Mercy lot as we have students, faculty, and staff walking through the parking areas and street.
  • Students must park in assigned spaces in the Mercy student lot. Be assured that, if they park in the neighborhood, we will hear from the neighbors. While sometimes the school gets the phone call, cars could be towed if Burlingame Police are called.
  • There are street improvements going on along Hoover (by the Sisters' main gate) that may cause traffic issues during drop off and pick up.
  • Please do not drop off or pick up students in front of Mercy Center.
