Last week was our Spring Wellness Week! Students participated in activities designed to alleviate the stress of finals and AP exams by providing fun opportunities to socialize in a non-academic setting. Organized and facilitated by the Counseling department, the week's highlights included: a "Self-Care Fair", where students enjoyed fun and relaxing activities together during collaboration; the "Take-What-You-Need Wall", where students created thoughtful, positive notes to share with one another as they prepare for finals; an ice cream social on the green; a Puppy play day, where faculty brought in their dogs for students to cuddle and play with during lunch and break time.

Mercy Athlete of the Week:

Gymnast Youki Miyoshi

Following a similar feat as a Freshman, Youki has again qualified as an individual gymnast for the CCS Finals in this her sophomore year. Youki totaled an overall score of 35.4 in the SCVAL finals last week at Los Altos High. Needing to score 34, Youki scored 9.0 in both the beam and floor to secure her spot in the Finals. Youki trains out of Gymtowne Gymnastics on a year round basis and is firmly dedicated to the sport of gymnastics. She is helping show the way to the other members of our gymnastic team. Great job Youki!

You need to complete registration through the Parent portal on PowerSchool each year your daughter plays a sport. Tryouts require full clearance in the Magnus system. You can start to register for the following school year (2018/19) after July 1, 2018.

Fantastic Parent Community Read!

Over the summer, we encourage you to join the faculty and staff in reading the book "Enough as She Is" by Rachel Simmons. Simmons gives insight to the world of current teenage girls - the pressures of perfection, social media, and the race to get into college. In the fall, we will have parent programming to highlight themes in the book and help parents connect with each other.
