Students participated in activities designed to alleviate the stress of finals and AP exams by providing fun opportunities to socialize in a non-academic setting. Organized and facilitated by the Counseling department, the week's highlights included: a "Self-Care Fair", where students enjoyed fun and relaxing activities together during collaboration; the "Take-What-You-Need Wall", where students created thoughtful, positive notes to share with one another as they prepare for finals; an ice cream social on the green; a Puppy play day, where faculty brought in their dogs for students to cuddle and play with during lunch and break time. ALL SCHOOL NEWS Ushers Needed for Graduation on Sunday, June 3rd - Parents are needed from 12:30pm – 3:30pm on Sunday June 3, 2018 at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco. This is a great way for underclass parents to get a sneak peak at what graduation will be like for your daughter. Final Exams begin next Thursday. Students do not need to be on campus if they do not have an exam. Students may not reschedule exams without approval from the Assistant Head of School for Academics. Click HERE for schedule.
Library News Summer book borrowing - freshmen, sophomores and juniors may borrow books from the library for the summer on May 22 and 23. Also remember that the Overdrive collection is available all year to borrow e-books at any time! Seniors will also have access to this until mid August.

Congratulations to the Gymnastics team as they were named a CCS Scholastic Team Award winner by having an overall GPA of 3.5619. Congratulations to the Softball team as they have secured a CCS play-off spot. The team is seeded 16th and will be playing today at Hillsdale 4pm. Spring Sports Awards for Softball, Track and Field, Swimming, Lacrosse, Gymnastics, Dance, Cheer will be held on Monday May 21 at 6:30pm in the Great Hall. Spring Sport team uniforms must be returned to the office of the Athletic Director. Any Mercy gear not returned will result in the family being charged a replacement fee. Mercy Athlete of the Week: Gymnast Youki Miyoshi Following a similar feat as a Freshman, Youki has again qualified as an individual gymnast for the CCS Finals in this her sophomore year. Youki totaled an overall score of 35.4 in the SCVAL finals last week at Los Altos High. Needing to score 34, Youki scored 9.0 in both the beam and floor to secure her spot in the Finals. Youki trains out of Gymtowne Gymnastics on a year round basis and is firmly dedicated to the sport of gymnastics. She is helping show the way to the other members of our gymnastic team. Great job Youki!
You need to complete registration through the Parent portal on PowerSchool each year your daughter plays a sport. Tryouts require full clearance in the Magnus system. You can start to register for the following school year (2018/19) after July 1, 2018. Simmons gives insight to the world of current teenage girls - the pressures of perfection, social media, and the race to get into college. In the fall, we will have parent programming to highlight themes in the book and help parents connect with each other.
