WEEKLY FEATURE

Year-End Survival Guide

It's the last push of the school year and we know the students are working hard to finish up assignments and study for APs and finals! The Mercy Counseling Team put together a few reminders and resources to help the girls stay healthy - you can view the Study Plan and Organizational Checklist documents! It's also helpful for Parents to provide support and encouragement for their stressed-out students -- we all tend to perform our best when we think positively!

Fantastic Parent Community Read!

Over the summer, we encourage you to join the faculty and staff in reading the book "Enough as She Is" by Rachel Simmons. Simmons gives insight to the world of current teenage girls - the pressures of perfection, social media, and the race to get into college. In the fall, we will have parent programming to highlight themes in the book and help parents connect with each other.

Congratulations to our Red Cross Club co-presidents, Amanda Aquilio and Catherine Nguyen as they are each the recipients of an American Red Cross Scholarship for their hard work in organizing their club and two fantastic blood drives that resulted in a total of 81 units of blood donations this year.

And, thank you to all of you that donated and those that helped support this effort. It was a stellar year for our Mercy Red Cross Club with many lives saved.

Return those library books!

Library books are all due in to the library this week. Please return by May 14 at the very latest. If the girls have any library books not returned, they will not be able to pick up their yearbooks until the book/s are in Mrs Murphy's hands. Check shelves, under beds, and in the closet!

Jennifer Ye

Mercy Athlete of the Week:

Swimmer Jennifer Ye

A sophomore on the team, Jennifer has worked hard throughout the swim season with the culmination of her qualifying for the WBAL league finals in the varsity division of 200 IM, 100 Fly as well as the 200 IM relay team and 400 free relay team. Her efforts helped the 200IM relay team improve their time by a full second. She also dropped her 100 free by over a full second as well. During the course of the WBAL trials and finals, Jennifer had 4PR's between her individual and relay team efforts. Great job Jennifer!

You need to complete registration through the Parent portal on PowerSchool each year your daughter plays a sport. Tryouts require full clearance in the Magnus system. You can start to register for the following school year (2018/19) after July 1, 2018.
