WEEKLY FEATURE ![]() The Spring Break Immersion trip to Sacramento, Chico, and Orland was an engaging, informative success! We visited with students at Leataate Floyd Elementary's after school program sponsored by Mercy Housing. The program provides a safe place for at-risk youth, and helps them improve reading skills to position themselves for success. We toured Loaves and Fishes, an extensive compound and program providing social services to meet the needs of the homeless, and then harvested asparagus at a community supported agriculture farm in Chico! Last, we helped with major projects at Farm Sanctuary whose mission is to rescue farm animals and to educate the public on the inhumane treatment in many commercial farms. After the hard work was completed, students played with the goats in the open field. ALL SCHOOL NEWS It's the last week to purchase tickets! Join us for the Benefit Dinner on April 25th to support Mercy's scholarship fund. Visit our website to learn more about purchasing tickets, sponsoring the event, and making a donation.

Library News This week the freshmen, sophomores and juniors are required to select a book for the Summer Windows and Mirrors Book club. Mercy faculty and staff have each selected a book that either means something special to them, or that they are interested in reading, and will lead a book club-style meeting in August. All books are a window into another person's life, or a mirror of your own life, and vary widely in topic, genre, style, and even presentation. The full list is here - click on a book cover for more details!
