*Next Week is College Week at Mercy! 
We will celebrate with the following events:

• Monday: Add your notes of hopes for college to our decorations in the cafeteria
• Tuesday: College Application Workshop for seniors after school; 
  Tri-School Financial Aid Night for Senior Parents: 6:30pm in the Great Hall
• Wednesday: College Sweatshirt Day! Students are encouraged to wear a college sweatshirt with their Mercy uniform; College Themed Activities during Collaboration.
• Thursday and Friday:
  Join us in the cafeteria at lunch to watch the movie Admissions.

AP EXAM FEES DUE October 11, 2017: Students taking AP exams this year must submit this FORM with a check for their AP Exams. Exams are $94 per exam. If you are taking an AP exam at Serra or Notre Dame, you must pay the exam fee at the host school.  All fees and forms are due to Mrs. Morello in Russell Hall by October 11, 2017.   Please come see College Counselor Francesca Ohanessian with questions about the AP Exams.

Dress Code for Senior Panoramic Photo Thursday, September 28th:

The Senior Class Photo is a memorable event! The Class of 2018 is asked to dress classy for the occasion. Students may not wear spaghetti straps, strapless, low cut or tops that reveal the midsection. ​ ​Skirts​ ​must​ ​be​ ​no​ ​shorter​ ​than​ ​5​ ​inches​ above​ ​the back​ ​of​ ​the​ ​knee​. Students may wear sandals if it is not a lab day, but may not wear heels or boots with a heel. No ripped or torn pants, jeans or shorts may be worn.

COLLEGE COUNSELING

*Tri-School College Financial Aid Night
Tuesday, October 3rd - 6:30PM - Great Hall

This event is intended for senior parents to review important information about how to complete the FAFSA, review the different types of aid available as well as other relevant information.

Seniors should be working on their college applications and personal statements.
The CSU Application will be available in October so its a good time to finish up on
the UC and Common App.  

College Visits: The colleges will continue next week.  Check your naviance and college visit calendar for any upcoming schools.  Be sure to give your teachers 24 hours notice that you will be missing class. All meetings will be in Room 306. 

Meeting with Mrs. O: Set up your meeting with me in the upcoming weeks.  We will go over your list and create an action plan for applying to college. Email me or stop by to set up a meeting. 

SAT/ACT Testing:  Make sure you are registered for a test this fall. The last accepted test date is December so be sure to register before then.  Register for the SAT at www.collegeboard.org and the ACT atwww.actstudent.org.

Personal Statement Help: Get help writing your personal statement from the counseling department or the English teachers.  Everyone is happy to help with your personal statement.  Please reach out to one of us for help! 

College Visitation Week  Mercy encourages students to visit prospective colleges in order to make an informed decision about possible attendance. Families are encouraged to book these trips in line with the scheduled Mercy school holidays. Mercy seniors can also tour schools during College Visitation Week, October 11th-13th, 2017.

It is Mandatory that each family be fully registered in the Magnus system. You can only activate your daughters profile by going thru the Parents PowerSchool account. Click HERE for more information. If an athlete is not fully registered as showing a sports clearance physical form, all emergency contact information and consent to treat, they will not be allowed to practice or play until all information required is submitted. Signed athletic contracts must be checked off as well.  There will be no exceptions!

If your daughter is planning on playing basketball or soccer, please start the Magnus registration process now to get clearance. Get your sports physical done now. Do not wait till the last moment to make an appointment. No athlete will be allowed to start the tryouts on Oct 30 if they are not cleared to participate. 

Conditioning Schedule for the Fall: Meet in the Grassilli Center

• Monday and Wednesday 3-4pm Varsity Volleyball
• Starting on Tuesday Sept 5: We will have conditioning sessions for any Winter and Spring Season Athlete: Meet in the Grassilli Center -  Tuesday and Thursdays
  3:15-4:45pm

Treatment times: Any athlete who is in need of treatment for injury, Emerald will be available in Grassilli Center Monday and Wednesday from 4-5pm

This is a fun way to get to know other Mercy parents and students, listen to world-class chamber musicians, all while helping out Music at Kohl (non-profit chamber music concert presenter and local music education provider). Students receive service credit for hours served.
