*Last week's Wellness Week
was a big success!  
The week began with advisories reviewing tools and resources to help students prepare for their upcoming finals (see links below). During the rest of the week students centered themselves with guided meditation on the green, and treated themselves to ice cream, a movie, puppy time, and a small dose of positivity from our Take What You Need wall.

*Mercy's Tri-M Music Honor Society Recital
Tues., May 23 - 6:30-8:00PM
Kohl Mansion - Reception Room
Mercy's Tri-M Music Honor Society has its final recital performance on Tuesday evening, May 23rd, in the Reception Room from 6:30-8:00 p.m. This is the event where all members perform and we love to have an audience. Not only do we celebrate the musical growth of our members but we acknowledge our seniors, our officers, and their contributions to keep music vital and important in the Mercy Community and look forward to the next year. Please come!


*Ushers Needed for Graduation on Sunday, June 4th - We need just a few more ushers for graduation, please let me know if you can help! Parents are needed from 12:30pm – 3:30pm on Sunday June 4, 2017 at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco. This is a great way for underclass parents to get a sneak peak at what graduation will be like for your daughter. Donate back Used Uniforms...  
Do you have any Mercy uniforms around your house that your daughter doesn't need anymore? Please drop them by the Main Office and we'll offer them to other Mercy students at our upcoming Used Uniform Sales. We'll take skirts, polos, sweaters, sweatshirts, pants, vests, shorts, etc! We'll hold a used uniform sale in June.


Summer School: 

Students and parents, if you are planning to take a summer school class to ADVANCE (not remediate), you must send your counselor proof of registration for this course as soon as possible. 

We also need to receive the transcript from the online or summer school by Aug. 1 (or contact Mrs. Conklin if you are unable to send it by then) in order to register you for the advanced class in the fall. If we do not have this information we will be unable to schedule you for the class in the fall and you will need to take that class at Mercy. Click HERE for The Summer School Request form.


Host an International Student with gphomestay!

Do you have a loving family and a spare room available in your home? You might consider hosting an international student spending her high school year(s) at Mercy High School. Gphomestay is currently seeking qualified host families to provide a safe and nurturing home environment for such students this August. If you have the kind of home and family environment that would be a good fit for a bright, eager, and highly motivated international student, we would love to hear from you. Host families are provided a generous stipend of $1,500 a month and all necessary training. Please contact Jaryce Nobela at for more information.

The requirements are as follows:
1. Form must be completed and signed by student AND parent. 
2. Copy of Drivers License must be attached.
3. Fee of $100 (please make checks payable to Mercy High School)

*Photo of Daughter Receiving Her Diploma...
In two weeks you can log onto to order your daughter's graduation picture of her receiving her diploma. The password to access the picture will be emailed to you once we receive it.  Please note that the password will not be created until after the graduation practice Friday. If you have any problems please contact Assistant Head of School for Student Life, Summer Dittmer.


*If you would like to have a DVD of Mercy High School's Class of 2017 Graduation Ceremony, they will be available to order for $65.00. Families need to pre-order their DVD's by bringing a check made out to Mercy High School by Friday, June 2nd. All DVDs will need to be picked up in the main office after two weeks.


Senior Grad Nite at Disneyland is in less than a month.  Please click HERE for details, as Disneyland changed the available dates and ticketing policies.  Thousands of seniors will be joining our celebration on June 7th now- meaning we will depart on Wednesday and return Thursday morning.  Tickets are limited and are on a first come, first served basis.  Forms are available now in Ms. Dittmer's office.

Spring Sports Awards Night will take place on Monday May 22 from 6:30-8pm



*Mercy Athletics will be holding a Sports Physical Night at Mercy on May 23 from
Dr Berger and Pacific THERx will be present to conduct sports physicals to ensure you are cleared to participate in sports at Mercy for the 2017/18 season. Utilize this time to get your clearance. *Please contact
Mr. Dougherty to sign up for a select time within the time period the physicals will be given. Slots are given every 15 minutes.

*All members of spring teams should be returning their uniforms to the Athletic Director. Uniforms should be cleaned and laundered before returning. Any uniforms not returned will result in the family being charged a replacement fee.


*Mercy Athlete of the Week:
Lauren Rocheleau

A member of the track and field team who qualified as an individual for the upcoming CCS trials this upcoming weekend. Lauren finished 2nd in the WBAL High Jump with a jump of 4'8 in the finals to secure a spot in the CCS. In addition, Lauren, a senior, also had a PR in the league finals Long Jump with a leap of 15'3. We wish Lauren all the best in her High Jump attempts this weekend. Go Lauren!


Cheer and Dance dates: Clinics will be on May 22 and 23 with the auditions on May 24. Questions, contact Mr. Ferguson.


*The Mercy High School Athletics Department is excited to offer our new varsity letterman jackets. Athletes who have lettered and competed in two varsity seasons of sport are eligible to order a jacket. Jackets can be worn with the school uniform on a daily basis and will be a long lasting memento of a high school athletic career. Jackets can be ordered for a base price of $115, which includes the block M. For an additional cost, athletes may embroider their name and sport, add their class year on the sleeve, and have a Mercy chenille patch on the back.

Please see Coach RG ( for questions and an order form. Sample jackets are available to try on in the SBO Office. Jackets take about six weeks to custom make and will be delivered in the summer.


Fall Sport Start Dates:

  • VOLLEYBALL Tryouts: August 8-11. Please note that no returning player is guaranteed a spot on a roster. Every player is expected to be at all days of the tryout sessions. Once teams are set, practice for the season will begin immediately in days following. Get your vacations in before August 8.

  •  August 14: Water Polo, Golf, Tennis and Cross Country will start their practices/tryouts.

  •  We will be having OPEN GYM during the summer starting on June 13-July 24. Basketball will be held on Tuesday from 7-9pm. Volleyball will be held on Wednesday from 7-9pm. Sessions will be held at Our Lady of Angels gym.

Conditioning sessions will start the week of June 12 and run thru July 27 –Held at Mercy

  • Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday-Conditioning will take place from
    9:30-11am. Coach Sunny Diaz will oversee
  • Monday/Wednesday-Conditioning will take place from 3:30-5pm.
    Pacific THERx trainer Mallory will oversee
  • There will be no conditioning on July 3 or 4.

 Reminder for Sports: Every athlete must be fully registered in the Appryse system and cleared to play sports before they start a season. A physical is required to get cleared. If you have not been cleared you will not be allowed to try out for a team. You can go onto the Mercy website and go to quicklinks and find the drop down for Appryse. Simply click and start your registration process. If you have played on a team in the fall or winter, you are cleared.

Senior Parents:


  • Update your Naviance: Please make sure your Naviance is accurate with the schools your daughters have applied to and with the final decisions from the schools
  • Register for college placement exams: Once students have decided on where they are going to school, make sure they sign up for any placement testing they might have to complete. Placement testing is usually done during orientation or before school starts. Please contact Mrs. Ohanessian with any questions regarding placement testing.
  • *Be sure to accept any financial aid offers in addition to submitting your deposit. The financial aid will not automatically transfer to your account. Follow the instructions in your financial aid award letter for the most accurate way to accept College financial aid.

  • Spring WACAC College Fairs: Register online for the local area college fair. There are fairs at Dominican, Sonoma State, St. Mary's and CSU East Bay.

Wednesday: Shredded Beef Chimichunga , served with Chips and Salsa and a side Salad, Baked , NOT fried Flour Tortilla stuffed with our shredded beef, beans and cheese. Served with Chips and Homemade Salsa


Thursday: Pizza....Pizza...Pizza  As you know by now...Our home made Pizza dough with our secret recipe Pizza sauce , Grade A Mozzarella cheese and your choice of: Cheese Pizza , Peperoni, Margarita Pizza, Chicken PestoPizza or our Own Mediterranean Pizza ( Za'tar spice, olive oil, Feta cheese and tomatoes), We Also offer Creamy spinach and Feta White Pizza. if you like our Spinach Calzones...This will be your favorite
