As you know, we value the ways our advisory program helps fulfill our school mission on behalf of all students. We think it is a distinct benefit for the student experience at Mercy. So that we may continue to strengthen our program, we welcome your candid responses to this survey.

*Upcoming Dates:

• Tuesday, April 4 student dismissal at 12:20pm
• *Wednesday, April 12 has been adjusted from a B5C76 to a Minimum day. Students will be released at 12:20 p.m. Some AP teachers may hold review sessions.  

*Tri-School Orientation
Tri-School Orientation has been moved from April 10 to May 16, 7:00PM at Serra High School. All students requesting a Tri-School class are required to attend. Parents are also required to attend.

Service Hours!

Due Date: Wednesday, May 10, 2017

Please take note that all hours should be completed before the due date. This means all hours must be entered and approved by May 10! Failure to do so will result in a low grade for service. Reminder, service hours are required for graduation so they must be completed. You have close to two months to complete any remaining hours.

Host an International Student with gphomestay!

Do you have a loving family and a spare room available in your home? You might consider hosting an international student spending her high school year(s) at Mercy High School. Gphomestay is currently seeking qualified host families to provide a safe and nurturing home environment for such students this August. If you have the kind of home and family environment that would be a good fit for a bright, eager, and highly motivated international student, we would love to hear from you. ATHLETICS

*Fall Sport Start Dates:

• VOLLEYBALL Tryouts: August 8-11. Please note that no returning player is guaranteed a spot on a roster. Every player is expected to be at all days of the tryout sessions. Once teams are set, practice for the season will begin immediately in days following. Get your vacations in before August 8.
• August 14: Water Polo, Golf, Tennis and Cross Country will start their practices/tryouts.
• Conditioning sessions will start the week of June 12. Times/dates will be finalized soon. There will sessions available Monday-Thursday of each week.

COLLEGE COUNSELING

*Senior Parents:

• Update your Naviance: Please make sure your Naviance is accurate with the schools your daughters have applied to and with the final decisions from the schools
  
  
• Scholarship Information: Please send Mrs. Ohanessian any scholarships that your daughter has received.  We include this in the program for graduation.  
   
• Waitlists: If your daughter has been placed on a waitlist and she would like to see where it goes, we strongly encourage you to claim a spot for her at another college on/before May 1st. 
  
  
• Submit your deposit: Students have until May 1st to decide where they will be going to school.  Please check with your daughter's school of choice to see what specific information is needed in order to claim your daughter's spot in the class.  
  
  
• Register for college placement exams: Once students have decided on where they are going to school, make sure they sign up for any placement testing they might have to complete.  Placement testing is usually done during orientation or before school starts.  Please contact Mrs. Ohanessian with any questions regarding placement testing.

• Serra High School Case Studies night for Juniors on May 10th at 6:30 p.m.
  Join us for the 6th annual case studies night where families can meet representatives from many universities around the country.  At the end of the Case Studies, there will be a small college fair.  Representatives from Santa Clara, University of San Francisco, St. Mary's, University of the Pacific and Dominican will be available as well as many others.  
  
  
• Spring WACAC College Fairs: Register online for the local area college fair.  
  There are fairs at Dominican, Sonoma State, St. Mary's and CSU East Bay.

Tuesday: Minimum Day...Fish Tacos limited amount pre-orders only, including pre-orders of Sandwiches and Salads. Please place your order no later than 11:00 am for pick up by 12:30pm

Wednesday: Greek Style Meat Pasticcio Short Tube Pasta layered with Greek Spiced Ground Beef, Baked in a White Custardy Béchamel Sauce served with a house Salad

Thursday: Penne Pasta a la Kielbas a  Penne Pasta drenched in our Creamy Pink Sauce (Sun dried tomato Alfredo) with Chunks of premium Kielbasa Sausage, ribbons of sauted red onions and red bell peppers, served with a house green Salad and Ranch Dressing

Friday (NO MEAT FRIDAY): Veggie Fried Rice and Veggie Egg Rolls
