Dear Mercy Families,

On behalf of the Faculty and Staff of Mercy, we wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day is a time to reflect and be thankful for all the gifts that God has given to us. This Thanksgiving, as you gather together with your family and friends for your Thanksgiving meal, as you laugh and play, please remember to also pray together to reflect on the many blessings God has bestowed upon you and your family. Pray for those that are less fortunate, the sick and dying, and those that are serving in the armed forces away from their family.

Thank you for being a part of the Mercy community!

Have a restful and bountiful Thanksgiving.

Karen Hanrahan
Head of School

Thanksgiving Prayer
We celebrate this day as a nation of people who have been blessed more than any other people on the face of the earth and at any time. We acknowledge you as the giver of the good we so easily take for granted. Forgive us as we are a forgetful people. Grant us on this Thanksgiving Day, the time to reflect on all the ways you have blessed each of us who has gathered. Increase our understanding of your ways, defeat us when we use our blessings for selfish gain, and remind us to love one another.
Thank you for providing all that we need for life and godliness. Make us to be a light and a blessing to the nations of the world. We acknowledge you as the only true and living God.  We pray this in the name of your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

*Attention parents of freshmen and sophomores! Do want want your daughter to be involved with the UN?! We have an amazing opportunity for her.

A Model United Nations Conference @ The Nueva School

Nueva School is proud to be hosting their first Model UN conference March 7-8, 2015 at the Nueva Upper School campus (131 E 28th Ave, San Mateo). The conference is open for all students grades 6-10, and only Nueva, Menlo, and Crystal Springs and Mercy have been invited to attend.

We’re trying to make a cohesive conference that provides enough challenge for everyone, while still not too intense for new delegates. Since the conference is local and low cost, we think it would be a great first experience for students who have never tried Model UN before. Experienced delegates have advanced committees and topics available to make sure they’re challenged as well.

Registration is open at www.nuevamun.com and will close on December 20th. I’m really looking forward to having Mercy students there!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
