Counseling

Mercy has four dedicated counselors that support students in a wide range of areas including Mercy curriculum, health and wellness, and the college application process. Our Guidance Department has two academic advisors, one wellness counselor and one college counselor. We consider parents to be our partners in ensuring students' success!

Meet Our Counseling Department Chair
Chris McMorrow
(Ms. Mac) is the Chair of the Counseling Department and an Academic Counselor here at Mercy. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Santa Clara University as well as a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from USF. A licensed therapist since 2013, Chris has a layered background in school counseling, academic support, administration, and admissions. Chris is passionate about supporting the development of a multi-functional Counseling Department that can service the social-emotional, academic and college preparatory needs of our Mercy students. Her department works to meet students where they are at and to help them build the skills that will effectively carry them not only through high school but into their futures.

The Mercy College Counseling Program is a program designed to assist students in identifying colleges that are considered a “good fit.” Our belief is that college is a match to be made, not a prize to be won. We strive to help each student develop her understanding of who she is, her values, and her hopes for her life after Mercy. Through a variety of classroom presentations, group meetings with college representatives, and extensive individual guidance, students are assisted in selecting appropriate colleges and are provided extensive assistance in the application process.
