Order Your Daughter's Back-to-School Photos
Picture day is Friday, Aug. 14th. In preparation for the start of the school year we would like to provide you with some information regarding how to order your daughter's Back to School photos. In the Summer Mailing you received a Lifetouch order form, please fill out the form enclose the exact payment (cash or check made payable to Lifetouch) and have your daughter bring it with her picture day (pdf of form). You may also place your order online at www.orderschoolportraits.com/MercyHighSchool. If you have any additional questions regarding how to order pictures please contact Assistant Head of School for Student Life, Summer Dittmer, at SDittmer@mercyhsb.com.  Thank you!

Mercy is using a new health form this year. All Mercy students, whether playing a sport or not, are required to register on the Appryse system for their health information.

School Uniform Policy
Please take a moment to review the
School Uniform Policy.  The flats required for the formal uniform are defined as non-tennis shoe footwear that is entirely black. Black TOMS will be acceptable. Please also note that school socks may not have any logos on them. For questions regarding the school uniform, please contact Assistant Head of School for Student Life, Summer Dittmer, at sdittmer@mercyhsb.com.

*School Supply Drive
August 17 - August 21

The Campus Ministry Department will be collecting school supplies for resident students at Mercy Housing's affordable housing units in Visitacion Valley.  The drive will be held from August 17 - August 21.  Students can drop off their donations in front of the Mansion between 7:40-8:00 am.  Items needed include: binders, divider tabs, notebooks, two pocket folders, pens, pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, rulers, binder paper and glue sticks.

*Mercy's Cashless Card Program - Sign ups for the new school year are now available! Mercy High School, Burlingame sponsors a cashless card program through Myschoolaccount.com which allows students to make purchases on campus quickly, easily, efficiently, and helps our families reduce the need for checks and cash. The program provides a convenient alternative method of payment with just a swipe of a student’s ID card. There is NO fee to enroll!!

1.  Current families who are already enrolled in the program can continue to use the same username and password on Myschoolaccount.com to access their account and load funds.

2.  Enrollment for incoming freshman families, or any family not yet registered for the cashless card program, can be completed by going to Myschoolaccount.com. You will need your daughter’s unique student ID to enroll which is located on your daughter’s school ID card or you can contact Elaine Wong in the business office at ewong@mercyhsb.com.

New Students & Parents Welcome Mass and Reception
Wednesday, August 12th - 6:30 pm 
On Wednesday, August 12th, all incoming freshmen, transfer students and their parents are invited to join us for the Welcome Mass to be held in the Chapel at 6:30 p.m. with a reception to follow in the Sequoia Room. Thursday, August 13th is Freshman Orientation from 8:30am-12:30pm. Students can wear free dress on this day.

The Common App is available now at www.commonapp.org.  Begin completing your application today!

The CSU application will be available on October 1st.

Athletics

*Special Notice for Strength and Conditioning: 
As a result of Freshmen Orientation on Thursday, August 13, there will be no morning conditioning from 9-11am.

Any student athlete participating in a fall sport
must fill out the athlete/parent contract which is found at the end of the Athletic Handbook. The Athletic Handbook and forms needed to play a sport can be found at the bottom of the Sports Tryout page of the website. Completed forms must be returned to the Athletic Director or main office.

All students who still have uniforms from this last year
,  need to turn them back to the athletic director as soon as you return to school on August 17.

Sports Tryouts

  • Tryouts for Fall Sports Begin on Monday, August 17: All returning Mercy student athletes that plan to play a fall sport will be required to try-out for their respective team.
  • Tryouts for Freshmen Students Begin on Monday, August 24: Any incoming freshman student who plans to play a fall sport will be required to try out for their respective team.

*Volunteer at Mills Peninsula Hospital
If any of you are interested in volunteering at Mills Peninsula Hospital, please read below. Several students have volunteered there in the past and had nothing but good and positive things to say.  From Mills: We just opened our application window this week.  Applications are available in my office – students can come by or call and we can send them out.  They are due back to us by 5p on 8/31.  We will interview in September and have orientation scheduled for Thur 10/22.  It takes our candidates a few weeks to get through the health testing and on-line training.  Please have interested students contact me via email,  mindere@sutterhealth.org or by calling my office at (650) 696-2465, option 1.

Music at Kohl Mansion offers exciting opportunities for Mercy students and parents to attend concerts as volunteers, helping to organize fun and elegant post-concert receptions where musicians and audiences mix and mingle over delicious refreshments.This long standing Mercy and Music at Kohl Mansion tradition offers Mercy students and parents an opportunity to perform worthwhile community service. Concerts are held in the Kohl Mansion at 7pm on selected Sundays. Volunteers help to keep music alive on the Peninsula!
