New Student Information
Communications and Logins
Families will receive an email in mid-July with the following information:
- Student's Course List
- Schoology Login
- Powerschool Login
- Direction on how to use Magnus
Please note - if you are not receiving email communications, or if your contact information has recently changed, please email our registrar Stephanie Montoya at firstname.lastname@example.org. Occasionally providers such as AOL filter our Gmail communications as spam.
Incoming freshmen will receive information for Gmail logins in mid-June. Students that are on campus for summer programs will need to use this login to download apps for classwork.
Schoology is Mercy's communication portal. On Schoology you can:
- View course information
- Communicate with teachers; receive communications from teachers
- See homework assignments
Families will receive login information for access via an email in mid-July.
Powerschool is Mercy's Student Information System where you can:
- Check grades
- Check attendance
- See teachers' comments
Families will receive login information for access via email in mid-July.
Magnus is where you will upload heath and immunization documentation as well as athletic-related forms. You can access Magnus through a link in Powerschool. Directions for registration will be included in the Schoology/Powerschool email.
Summer Assignments and Reading
The summer assignments can be found HERE.
In the Fall, freshmen will join the rest of the school community in a new tradition of summer reading Book Clubs. The required English reading book will be used as the basis of a relaxed discussion of what the book's story meant to each reader. Each Club is lead by a faculty member, and discussion will be focused on students' opinions and how their experiences might relate to the book's themes and story. These goal of Book Club is to encourage our students to read for fun!
The Book List for 2019-2020 will be available August 1. Families will be notified by email; books must be purchased by the first day of school.
All students will use their Mercy Gmail accounts to establish a school-based Apple ID for the purchase of all apps and books. Only the Mercy Gmail Apple ID will be used for school purposes. Do not purchase apps or books with your personal Apple ID.
*Students who wish to use their personal Apple ID for games and home use may do so. Please be aware that students will need to switch back to the school Apple ID when they come to school.
If you will be involved in Sports or Spirit Squads, medical clearance and documentation is required to be submitted through Magnus.
Mercy has a robust Summer Athletics program. If you are planning to play a sport at Mercy, we encourage you to attend Strength & Conditioning training, as well as your sport-specific skills development workshops. Summer training will give you a solid foundation for fall sports, and you will get to know your classmates before school starts!
Mercy students have a day-to-day uniform, and a formal uniform for special occasions. Uniform details and policy is available HERE, including Mills website links and shop information.
Mercy uses a 'Cashless Card' program through MySchoolAccount.com. Families will be able to register when students receive their ID numbers. More information is available HERE.

All Mercy students are required to complete 22 hours of service each year. Students can complete these hours over the summer for the following school year. For Summer Hours: keep track of your hours, dates, and person of contact with email address. You will learn how to enter your hours in the fall during your religion classes.

The Mercy Parent Club is our parent organization that provides many opportunities to be invested and involved, strengthening our partnership and enhancing everyone’s Mercy experience. All parents and guardians are automatically a part of the Mercy Parent Club (MPC) and we invite you to be involved in whatever ways interest you! MPC hosts many of our beloved events and supports different functions at Mercy throughout the year.
