Hi Mercy, around school you will notice some flyers: Tri-M Music Honor Society is hosting a Ukulele Workshop today during collaboration for anyone would like to put their hands on a fun and relatively easy instrument! Tri-M members will teach you a few basics and three or four chords as well as a well-known song. Hope you can come by Rm. 214 from 1:30-2:30. Snacks!!!

We had some incredible performances last week by our athletes.

First of all, congratulations to the lacrosse team for beating our friends at Notre Dame Belmont last Friday 14-1. Great job ladies.

The softball team had a very impressive 16-1 win over Notre Dame San Jose on Thursday. Nicely done girls.

Congratulations to Angelina Zamattia for her performance at the St Francis track meet on Saturday She took 2nd place in both the shot and discuss in the Frosh Soph division. Way to go Angelina

Special kudo's to Teme Fanguna as she took first place with a CCS best throw in the discuss. Teme also had a strong 2nd place finish in the shot put. Teme received recognition in the SM Daily Journal honor role for her performance. Keep it going Teme!

Swimmer Teresa Tang had a great swim in the 50 free and finished first overall on Saturday at the Small School Invitational.. Her time has already made her CCS qualified. Great job Teresa.

Hello Mercy community! SIA Club will be having a Dollar Raffle everyday during lunch in the cafeteria THIS WEEK. Make sure to bring your dollar to spin the wheel and win some prizes. The money gathered will be donated to the Pink Fund, which is an organization that helps pay for breast cancer patients' basic needs while they are undergoing treatments. With your dollar, whose world could you change?

There will an anime club meeting at 1:30 in Miss Fisher's room down in Russell. Hope to see you all there!

Please meet at the top of the senior stairs as pictures will be in the Bride's room. Arrive quietly 5 minutes before time scheduled and check in with yearbook staff member and your group leader. Do not be late!!!

Rho Kappa, French Honors Society, and National Art Society should leave directly after announcements as your pictures are first.

Any student, teacher, or staff member that missed photo day at the beginning of school should come to Bride's room for makeup picture any time after 1:45.

Congratulations to the Varsity soccer team for their huge win over Priory yesterday 3-1. Priory is the 1st place team in the league and was undefeated until we beat them...Great job soccer girls.

Good luck to the Varsity basketball team in their game today at 5pm against Crystal Springs. Also, congratulations to the team for their hard fought win over Castilleja on Wednesday night. Let's get 2 wins in a row tonight.

Congratulations to Freshman soccer player Hayley Klingler for being named to the San Mateo Daily Journal top performers of the Week. Hayley has become a scoring machine for the Varsity. Great job Hayley.

(2) BLOOOOOOOOOOD DRIVE. Yup, it's that time again. Please see Dr. Bradley's post for more information and on how to sign up to donate. 16 year-old donors should contact Abbie, Marla, or Dania with their desired donation time. Let's do this and save lives!!

All spring sports start their seasons today. If you do not know where to go or if you can't make your practice and/or tryout, please contact Mr Dougherty in the athletic directors office.

The library is moving the Tinkerspace up to the cafeteria for lunches on Tuesday. Take 15 minutes to make a needlefelted heart to be ready for Valentines day. We will make small hearts that can be attached to backpacks in your choice of color, theme or decoration. Look for Mrs Murphy on the back table in the cafeteria both lunches tomorrow.

3. Tinkerspace is open today with our new Needle Felting project just beginning. Come and make a cute (or not) critter to take home.

Attention all students: Let's start the Week of Christmas Spirit with some good news! Congratulations to the Juniors for winning the Penny War with -5,265 pennies collected! Each Junior advisory received a homemade treat to celebrate today. In total we raised $403.12 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the Penny War. It truly is the season of giving. Great job Mercy!

Our Varsity Volleyball team is in the CCS quarter finals tomorrow night. We play Kings Academy at Nueva High School in San Mateo at 7pm. We are encouraging all Mercy students to attend the game and support our team.....Be warned there is an admission charge of $5 for students. All postseason tournaments in the CCS charge entrance fees.. Please come cheer our team to Victory.

Winter Sports Tryouts Start today

Soccer tryouts are at Skyline College from 3:00-5:00 everyday this week.

Basketball has mandatory conditioning today from 3:00-4:00 in Grassilli. The rest of the week will be at the College of San Mateo. Tomorrow tryouts are from 4:00-6:30 and please check the schoology post for times the rest of the week.

Lacrosse conditioning starts today and will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00. Meet in front of Grassilli.

Congratulations to all 3 volleyball teams for their wins last night over Crystal Springs.

We are asking that all students come out to the volleyball games this Tuesday and support the teams as they play Kings Academy. Currently, all 3 teams are in first place in league and it would be great to have a lot of student support like we did at the Dig Pink game. Times at Serra for Tuesday are 3:30 for Frosh,4:30 for JV and 5;45 for the Varsity.

Congratulations to the Golf team as they won 2 matches this week but more importantly, one of the wins was over Notre Dame Belmont. Way to go ladies.....

Good luck to the Varsity tennis team as they play Notre Dame San Jose today. The JV tennis team is playing Sacred Heart Cathedral here at Mercy. Good luck to them as well.

All 3 volleyball teams are in action today at Serra playing Priory. The Varsity and JV teams are still undefeated in league play. Best of luck to all 3 teams.

Tri-School Chorus begins on Wednesday, Sept. 28th. at Serra. There are several openings for students who have had some experience in chorus singing and reading music--see me (Ms. Matthews) during Collaboration! I'll be in Rm. 214 or the Great Hall today as well as after school\

Giants Game: seniors need to park down below and be on the bus (up by mansion) by 5:00pm.t taking the bus to the giants game is mandatory:)

Congratulations to Var and JV volleyball as both teams came away with commanding victories over Pinewood yesterday. Both teams are currently undefeated and in first place in league play. Varsity is undefeated on the season play as well.

Our JV and Freshman VB teams take on our friendly rivals Notre Dame Belmont today at Serra. Game time for Frosh is 3:30 and 4:30 for JV. If you can make, please come to the game and support the teams.

Varsity tennis is playing in a match today against Hillsdale. If you are nearby, swing by and root on the girls as well.

Our water Polo team is playing in a tourney today and tomorrow. First game today is against SHP. Best of luck to the team throughout the tourney.

Kudos to the Cross Country team as they faced Mercy SF in a dual meet on Wednesday and beat our friends in a most impressive fashion as our girls were the first five finishers in the race. Great job ladies.

Finally, congratulations to freshman golfer Maya Zeidan for being named this weeks Mercy athlete of the week. Maya has been low scorer for our team in each of the matches the team has played so far this season. Great job Maya!

The library's Summer Reading Challenge forms are now due. If you read three books or more for fun over the summer, fill in the form that has been shared with you on google drive, and bring it up to Mrs Murphy in the library. There will be a pizza party for all participants, and prizes for those who read the most books.
