FINAL EXAM POLICY
I. Under the following circumstances, students may make
up final exams with no penalty:
A. Illness: The Dean of Academics must be notified on the day of the final exam by a call from the parent or guardian or by a doctor's note.
B. Vacation: The student must notify the Dean of Academics by a note from the parents or guardian, at least three weeks before final exams. Students leaving on a vacation may not be excused from final exams, nor may they take final exams before the scheduled final exam date, unless given special permission by the Dean of Academics. Finals must be made up as soon as the student returns from vacation.
C. Other unforeseen or individual situations that are considered legitimate by the Administration and teacher(s) involved.
II. Students may make up final exams, but they can receive
no higher than a C grade if they have failed to notify the
Dean of Academics of illness on the day of the scheduled exam.
III. Under the following circumstances, students may not
make up final exams and they receive an F:
A. Cutting school at the time of the exam
B. Absence from school in order to work
C. Leaving on vacation if the Dean of Academics has not been notified three weeks before final exams
IV. A student who arrives at school after her final exam has
started must take the final, but she will only be allowed
the time remaining in the final exam period to complete
her final.
