IT DIRECTOR - Immediate Opening - Posted Sept 3, 2010

Position description: Mercy High School, an all-girls college preparatory secondary school has an immediate opening for an IT Director. This position has direct oversight of the functioning, design, maintenance and upgrading of the school’s computer and network systems, including the integration of software and educational technology. The IT Director provides complex, high-level technical support to faculty, staff and students as well as executes complex assignments and projects, and continually works to improve technology-related techniques and procedures.

Competencies: Must work well in a collaborative team environment. Needs strong organizational skills and must be detail-oriented, with ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines. Must have strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact closely with vendors, students, faculty and staff. Must be a highly motivated self-starter, with strengths in project management oversight.

Minimal qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related field, plus at least 3 years similar work experience, ideally in a educational environment

• High level of knowledge with all or most of the following applications: Active Directory, MS Exchange 2003/2007, MS Office 2007, SQL 2000, SonicWall Firewalls, Veritas Backup Exec, Symantec Anti-Virus

• Successful candidate will have sufficient training in necessary areas that substantial additional training is not immediately required

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with PowerSchool student record software, as well as Senior Systems, Blackbaud or other similar accounting and/or institutional advancement database programs

Position requires flexible schedule, with some evenings and weekend hours. Position is full-time and year-round.

Salary range:
Commensurate with experience
