Wed., June 18th
5:00-7:00pm
Kohl Mansion - Great Hall

Mercy will host a Sport's Physical Night on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 5-7pm.  Every student on a Mercy High School sports team must be enrolled in our web-based system that collects medical history, Appryse, prior to the first work-out. To facilitate this process, Mercy High School is sponsoring a Sports Physical Clinic. The clearance obtained will be good for Fall, Winter or Spring sports during the entire 2014/2015 school year. A representative from each of the sports teams will be on hand to answer questions.

• Wear shorts and loose fitting T-Shirts
• Check-in is located at the front of the Mansion
• Make sure to enroll on Appryse (link below) prior to attending physical’s night.

The state mandates student-athletes (including cheerleaders and song pom dancers) to have a comprehensive physical form filled out each year before being allowed to tryout, practice and compete in sports at the high school level. Please note that Mercy will only give clearance to
student-athletes that enroll in our web based system for medical history, Appryse. Click here for more information on how to enroll online.

As the school year winds down, please take a look at those textbooks.  Did the dog eat part of the cover off?  Did your daughter doodle on the pages?  If you can't resell it, consider donating it to the Mercy Library.  We will, of course, take textbooks in great condition too!  We are in need of current Precalculus, Physics, and Foreign Language textbooks for students to use in the library.  Other subject textbooks may also be donated if they are determined to be needed.  Please contact the librarian via email regarding all textbook donations: kbasleesmith@mercyhsb.com.  Thank you!

*Important Information on Parking
for Next School Year

Parking permit applications were made available to all juniors. Juniors may turn these forms into the Main Office up until the last day of finals in order to receive priority. In order for applications to be accepted students must turn in the completed form signed by themselves and a parent, a check made out for $100 to Mercy High School, and a copy of her drivers license.

Please note that students may only apply for permits if they have a current driver's license.Any applications turned in without a copy of a drivers license will not be accepted. No exceptions will be made to this rule.

Upon returning to school this fall, seniors (current juniors) will again be given priority to apply for parking if spots are still available. Seniors will have priority for the first week of school until Friday, August 22. Should any spots still be available after seniors have had priority, parking permit applications will open up to juniors. Junior parking will be decided based on a lottery system with special attention paid to those who carpool a number of fellow students or who have extreme circumstances. Due to the limited parking sophomores may not apply to park in Mercy's parking lot.

** Please note that due to the large senior class size that not all seniors may be guaranteed parking. Incoming junior families, please be aware that there is a high possibility that there may be no parking options on campus for next year's juniors due to the senior class size.

Please note that students may only apply for parking after they have received their drivers license.

Should a student not receive a parking permit but finds it necessary to drive to school, she may choose to partake in Mercy High School's additional parking option. Students who choose this option may park at the Millbrae Bart Station every morning . Students are shuttled to and from Mercy High School via the shuttle service that is sponsored by the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance. Please visit http://www.commute.org/index.php/shuttle-info/shuttle-by-city/2-general-pages/shuttle-info/89-burlingame-north-bartcaltrain for a schedule of drop off and pick up times.

If a student is unable to receive a parking permit and does not choose to use the Bart parking option please be aware that she may not drive to school and will need to find a carpool or have a parent or guardian drop her off to school each morning.

Based on the Conditional Use Permit Mercy High School has with the City of Burlingame, students may never park on the surrounding streets. Please be aware that any student who is caught parking on the streets will be given immediate disciplinary consequences as this rule must be followed at all times.

Should you have any additional questions regarding the parking permit application process or on parking options please contact the Assistant Principal of Student Life, Natalie Cirigliano, at ncirigliano@mercyhsb.com.
